Culinary Vacations for Singles & Solo Travelers

Culinary vacations are a delicious way for singles and solo travelers to explore the world’s most interesting places through their mouthwatering cuisine. Our creative culinary itineraries offer cultural experiences that you cannot find on your own or through large tour groups. Our small groups (12 max!) appeal to solo travelers because they allow for meaningful connections and real relationships. A common interest in food is the ideal talking point for kicking off fascinating conversations and new friendships. We’ve been called “the tour for people who aren’t tour people.” Here’s why our group culinary tours attract so many enthusiastic solo travelers:

Why do solo travelers love Access Culinary Trips?

Travel with people who share your interests

Do you love food and have a passion for travel? So do the other people traveling with you! Our creative culinary itineraries offer a unique and intimate way to experience a place, insider access you can’t find on your own or through large tour groups. From the sizzling food stalls of Vietnam to a farm-to-table meal at a sustainable farm in Cuba, foodies will savor distinctive regional flavors, explore bustling historic markets, and have unparalleled opportunities to connect with local people. Cooking enthusiasts will learn to prepare traditional meals shoulder-to-shoulder with local chefs.

Whatever solo travel experience you are looking for, we have a tour for you. Maybe you would like to learn to cook traditional food in Morocco, take a street food tour and cook with celebrity chefs in Vietnam, learn to make daiquiris in Cuba, or eat ceviche and explore Machu Picchu in Peru. Whichever of our portfolio of culinary tours appeals to you, our dedicated chefs, knowledgeable local guides, and carefully designed itineraries will ensure a fun and memorable trip.

Flexible schedules and solo travel options

Small groups and a flexible schedule offer ample time for socializing, relaxing, and exploring on their own. On all of our tours, we offer private room upgrades for solo travelers who prefer more privacy. We also offer roommate pairing, when possible, for those looking to share a room. We understand that many people do not want to pay “extra” for being a single traveler and we work hard to keep our prices fair. In fact, most of our single supplements are under 25% of the tour price.

Special solo tours for women

We’ve seen a growing trend of women wanting to travel in small groups with other women. We now offer special tours for women to bustling Morocco, vibrant Peru, and stunning Tuscany. Our new guided culinary adventures offer a way for women to travel solo — yet not alone — safe and welcomed in an intimate community of new foodie friends. Our women travel groups are not only empowering for our guests, but also for the local women we meet along the way.

In Peru we connect with local women when we visit a women’s weaving cooperative. We also support a women-owned village enterprise when we join in a pachamanca in a remote village. In Morocco we visit a women’s argan oil cooperative. We are also fortunate to have a female city guide in Essaouira who will give you a great perspective of being a woman in Morocco. In Italy we cook with a female chef in her home in Cortona and we enjoy a Michelin-starred meal prepared for us by the acclaimed Silvia Baracchi.

Feel safe as you explore

Traveling solo doesn’t have to mean traveling completely alone. Our expert local guides are true professionals, and no other company matches them when it comes to building camaraderie among a group of travelers who share a sense of fun and adventure. Many of our repeat guests have commented on how safe, welcome, and cared for they feel with our guides. Our small groups—never more than 12 people—allow for easy connections and new friends to explore and share adventures with. You can feel safe venturing farther and exploring more without stress.
