ITINERARY: NICARAGUA MINI-TRIP

DAY 1: Arrive in Liberia, Costa Rica
We'll pick you up in Costa Rica, but will head straight across the Nicaraguan border (45 minute drive) to our lovely oceanview resort and spa in the up and coming surfing mecca of San Juan del Sur. If time and conditions permit, we'll head out to the beach to paddle around and warm up. Tonight we'll kick back at the hotel and relax. Dinner will be at an excellent local restaurant.

DAY 2: Surf Nicaragua
Our first full day in Nicaragua will allow us to work on developing our skills. After breakfast we will head out to a nearby beach where our expert instructors will assess your skill level. In the afternoon, we'll enjoy a picnic lunch followed by a second surf session. Dinner tonight will be in San Juan del Sur.

DAY 3: Visit Granada
This morning we'll head out to Granada, the oldest colonial city in the Americas, with incomparable historical and architectural significance. Granada is set beside the towering Mombacho and Masaya Volcanoes and the immense Lake Nicaragua. We'll arrive in town just in time for brunch at a local cafe, which will give us a chance to soak in the town's charming atmosphere. Afterward, we'll stroll the narrow cobblestone streets and visit some of Granada's colonial civil and religious landmarks. On our way back to San Juan del Sur, we'll stop at the famous handicrafts market in Masaya known for traditional woodwork, leather, weaving, and pottery.

DAY 4: Surf Nicaragua
Today we will have a morning and afternoon session to work on your new skills and have fun. Tonight we'll have a farewell dinner at a special ocean view restaurant.

DAY 5: Our Surf Trip Ends
Our Nicaragua Surf Mini-Trip is over. After breakfast, we'll drive you to Liberia Airport (Costa Rica) to begin your journey home.

Please note: This itinerary is designed to give you an idea of what to expect during our trip but it is not set in stone. What we actually do on a given day is flexible and is tailored to weather and swell conditions and the interests and abilities of the group. Also, because this is a rainforest destination, you can expect to have some rainy afternoons. In the summer this might be one to two hours per day. In the winter it will be less frequent. However, we have paced our trip to take full advantage of the sunshine and optimum surf conditions.
