TERRAIN Due to New Zealand’s geography, the weather is very unpredictable (as with most islands). Though New Zealand experiences its summer during the traditional, Northern hemisphere winter (the weather ought to be warm in February and March), it is also possible that we will experience rain, wind, and colder weather. The South Island, the largest land mass of New Zealand, is divided along its length by the Southern Alps (Mount Cook is the tallest mountain at 12,316 feet (3,754 meters). Within hours we can travel from towering mountain terrain to coastal beaches so guests should prepare themselves for a variety of scenery and weather changes! | |
