FOOD Costa Rican food is a fusion cuisine and combines elements of culinary traditions from Africa, Italy, France, China, and Spain. You'll have the chance to sample everything from casado dinners (white rice, beans, pork, steak or chicken, and the country's renowned fried plantains) to Caribbean-influenced curries, to delicious coastal seafood dishes such as ceviche.
In Costa Rica, home-style cooking dominates, so no Costa Rica adventure tour would be complete without at least one heaping forkful of the national dish, Gallo Pinto (rice and beans seasoned with coriander, onions and Worcestershire sauce). Vegetarians will be well catered for thanks to an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruits and those who prefer more Western influenced food will find that there are generally Western dishes available.
We've carefully selected our favorite restaurants so you can enjoy the best possible food during your eight days with us. Our Costa Rica adventure tour includes all breakfasts, one lunch, and one dinner. | |
