ACCOMMODATION - CAVE HOTELS & CHARMING GUESTHOUSES
| | The accommodation is one of the true highlights of our Turkey tour. For the first four nights of our trip we'll stay in a unique and beautiful cave hotel. The rooms of this hotel are literally carved out of the cliff overlooking the vibrant town of Urgup, and most date back to the 5th and 6th centuries! Although constructed hundreds of years ago, these spacious rooms are far from stuffy. Hardwood floors, whitewashed walls, handcrafted furniture, carefully chosen lighting, and large windows overlooking Urgup give them the feeling of an elegant Mediterranean villa. Though the labyrinth of passageways running through the cliff to connect the various rooms will certainly remind you that you are indeed living in a cave! At the base of the hotel is a wonderful terrace with an outdoor fireplace surrounded by Turkish Pillows. Here you can relax and enjoy the wonderful view of the nighttime lights of Urgup.
Our second accommodation, where we'll spend two nights, also provides a unique experience - an old Greek house turned into a small guesthouse in the charming village of Guzelyurt. This family-run hotel boasts excellent food and service, a terrace restaurant, a beautiful garden surrounded by fruit trees and a stunning view of the village. We have selected the best available accommodations in the area, but this guesthouse is a bit more basic than our other two hotels.
Our final night of the tour is spent in Uchisar at a Turkish mansion with cave and old stone rooms dating back to the early centuries. The property has been tastefully renovated with beautiful ancient doors and furniture, while maintaining its original charm and elegance. Situated next to Uchisar Castle and offering breathtaking views of the Argeus mountains, our accommodation is located within walking distance of Cappadocia’s historical center.
Please note: For sessions of less than 4 people we will use a slightly different hotel in Urgup. This hotel is still a comfortable & charming cave hotel but it is of a slightly less luxurious standard than the cave hotel described above. This allows us to keep our prices affordable even for small groups. |
