ACCOMMODATIONS: SURFING MOROCCO IN STYLE

We searched long and hard to find the best accommodations for surfing Morocco and exploring the culture.

In Marrakech, we stay inside the medina (old city) in a beautiful riad with a heated pool and open fireplaces in winter, and air-conditioning in summer.

Our accommodation in the beach town of Agadir is a lovely 4-star resort near the center of town which combines traditional Berber and modern styles. The resort has a salt-water swimming pool and a spa with steam rooom, sauna, whirlpool and massage services. It's an easy hop in the van to go surfing Morocco's best breaks.

Our accommodation in the High Atlas is in a charming, boutique riad (Moroccan guesthouse) with beautifully decorated rooms in classic Moroccan style. Located in a tiny Berber village, our riad offers a traditional hammam (hot bath) and spa, and a roof-top restaurant overlooking nearby villages and the twinkling lights of Marrakech. It is lovely and tranquil and is by far the best available accommodation in the area. While they may occasionally lack some of the comforts of a luxury hotel, they more than compensate with their warm hospitality.
