Our Mexican Cooking Vacation takes place at Haramara Retreat, a place of beauty, tranquility and elegant simplicity, where the jungle meets the ocean, and where nature itself seems to be in a state of meditation.

Native and untouched tropical vegetation surrounds and embraces each one of the 16 private palapa casitas (palm-thatched bungalows). Each charming and cozy cabana has been carefully designed to subtly merge the internal and external environments while meeting strict ecological standards with as little disturbance to the flora and fauna as possible. Stunning ocean and/or jungle views abound from every cabana.

The cabanas are spread over the 12 acres of the property making each one absolutely secluded and private. Enjoy the rustic luxury of any one of the personally designed cabanas, which feature comfortable beds with hand woven sheets, oil lamps and candles for softly lit evenings, and original and uniquely designed individual bathrooms, many with views. Bathrooms are elegant and private with every detail attended to - even fresh flowers.

Please note: Part of what makes Haramara so magical is its rustic simplicity. Our cabanas are built into the hillside above the Pacific Ocean, and access is via private walking trails so that all you hear are the sounds of nature. The cabanas are lit only by oil lamps and candles and there is no electricity. This trip is not suitable for guests with constrained mobility or impaired eyesight.
