OVERVIEW - JAPANESE CULINARY TOURS

Japanese culture is a fascinating synthesis of traditional art and rituals blended with cutting edge trends, a spell-binding aesthetic, and always gracious hospitality. And Japanese cuisine is no less a traditional art form than kabuki, calligraphy and haiku. On our Japanese culinary tours you'll spend a week in Kyoto, the Japan's cultural capital, exploring the unique culture and cuisine of this modern, yet ancient, country. You'll enjoy several cooking lessons while you visit the temples and museums of Kyoto, walk through Gion, the entertainment and Geisha district, venture out to the ancient capital of Nara, and learn about Japanese customs, including a tea ceremony. Accommodation is in stylish, comfortable 4-star hotels.

INSTRUCTION

Japanese cuisine is delicious, healthy, and unique, and you will have the opportunity to learn a variety of dishes while experiencing the traditional culture of Japan. On our Japanese culinary tour you will learn about the unique ingredients and tools used for Japanese cooking, how to balance the delicate flavors to create a delicious meal, and the importance of presentation as you create your own culinary feast. At the end of each Japanese cooking class we’ll sit down to enjoy the meal we’ve just created.
