ITINERARY: SURF COSTA RICA

DAY 1: Arrive in Tamarindo
Welcome to the magnificent beaches and lush rainforests of incredible Costa Rica! Our Costa Rica surf tour begins in Tamarindo Bay located on the Northern Pacific Coast in Guanacaste. Surfers will stay at a beautiful hotel near the beginner beach. Enjoy a welcome dinner at a restaurant overlooking the ocean.

DAY 2: Costa Rica Surf Camp Begins
We'll start the day at an excellent beginner beach just meters from our hotel door. After a hearty Tico breakfast we'll head to the beach where our expert instructors will introduce you to the basics of surf technique, safety and etiquette. It`ll then be time to hit the water to catch your first waves. After lunch you'll have an early afternoon surf session. Later in the afternoon you`ll have a chance to relax by the pool and unwind. Tonight you`ll enjoy a well-earned dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 3: Surfing Local Breaks
Today we`ll jump in a boat for a short ride to a 'secret' surf spot to continue your surf instruction. We'll enjoy a day of perfect waves and expert coaching in two surf sessions with lunch in between. Tonight we'll head to another local restaurant for fresh fish.

DAY 4: Drive to Playa Guiones
This morning we`ll pack up our bags and jump in the van for a scenic drive to our next destination: Playa Guinoes. We'll check into our stylish zen-like hotel set in a gorgeous harmonious spa setting. After lunch, if conditions permit, we'll enjoy a sunset surf session at a local beach break and then you can kick back on the veranda or in the swimming pool to relax. Dinner will be at a cliff-top cafe overlooking the beach.

DAY 5: Canopy Tour & Jungle Hike
After breakfast we will embark on our next adventure, the chance to fly through the jungle on zipline cables! Your expert guides will help you get up close and personal with the rainforest wildlife as you soar through the treetops from platform to platform. After lunch, weather permitting, we'll head to Ostional National Wildlife Refuge for a guided hike and a chance to see Leatherback and Pacific Green turtles nesting. With it's virgin rainforest, stunning white-sand beaches and abundant wildlife, Nosara is one of Costa Rica's most beautiful and private regions. In the evening we'll once again enjoy dinner with stunning sunset views.

DAY 6: Surf 'Secret' Spot
This morning we'll either hike or drive to a secluded beach with excellent breaks. We'll enjoy a picnic lunch followed by a second surf session early in the afternoon.

DAY 7: Our Surf Trip Ends
Sadly, our Rainforest Surf Trip is over. After breakfast we'll drive you to Nosara Airport so you may fly back to San Jose International/Juan Santamaria Airport to begin your journey home.

Please note: This itinerary is designed to give you an idea of what to expect during our trip but it is not set in stone. What we actually do on a given day is flexible and can be tailored to weather and swell conditions and the interests of the group. Because Costa Rica is a rainforest destination, you can expect a to have some rainy afternoons. In the summer this might be one to two hours per day. In the winter it will be less frequent. However, we have paced our trip to take full advantage of the sunshine and optimum surf conditions.
